From the inside out
From birth, our personal development begins from experiences on the outside. As babies, we reciprocate the behavior of our parents. As tots, we learn very quickly to share with others. In grade school, we become externally influenced in all aspects of life; our clothes, our interests, and our emotions.
But, some time down the line, we start to realize that true personal development comes from the inside. By looking inward, we can begin to understand the deep nature of our realities.
Seneca said a few thousand years ago,
“We suffer more often in imagination than in reality.”
This fact becomes very clear once we understand “I.” And, to understand “I”, we have to observe “I”. And, you cant begin to develop something you don’t understand.
Therefore, start looking inside more and you may start to get what you’re looking for on the outside.
