Outsourcing our thinking

“… when we let other people tell us what’s possible or what the best way to do something is, we outsource our thinking to someone else.”

-Shane Parrish

Where did your thoughts come from today? Did they come from you or another origin? Despite the origin, have you questioned them?

Begin to question your thoughts and they start to become your own. You stop outsourcing. You become the originator and being an originator is being authentic. Authenticity is where creativity is derived. Creativity is where better art happens.

By rearchitecting our own cyclical thought processes, we can become better thinkers and better artists. We start with the sources we are letting in and end with filtering those sources with questions. Then, our thinking becomes insourced instead of outsourced.
